Biographical summary יחיא משה עבודי נולד בבגדאד בשנת תר"ש, 1844. בגיל 20 נסע להודו ועבד שם כמלמד וסוחר ובגיל ארבעים עבר לשנגחאי. בשנת תרל"ה עלה לירושלים, שם עסק תחילה במסחר עד שהחליט להקדיש את עיסוקו ללימוד תורה. בשנת תרס"ז פעל כשד"ר כולל הספרדים בירושלים להודו ולמזרח הרחוק. נפטר בירושלים בשנת תרס"ה, 1915.
