Rabbi Solomon Isaac Scheinfeld (1860-1943), was ordained to the rabbinate in Kovna yeshiva and immigrated in 1891 to the United States, where he became the head orthodox rabbi of Milwaukee. He was in many communal and public offices and wrote many halachic and theoretical books and articles. His collection includes personal documents, a few letters, newspaper clips and different lists in his handwriting.

Biographical summary הרב שלמה יצחק שיינפלד (השי"ש) נולד בפלך קובנה, ליטא, בשנת 1860. בשנת 1888 סיים את לימודיו בישיבת קובנה, ובשנת 1890 קיבל את הסמיכה לרבנות מידי הרב יצחק אלחנן ספקטור. בשנת 1891 היגר הרב שיינפלד לארצות הברית. החל משנת 1902 ועד לפטירתו, שימש כרב קהילת "בית ישראל" ומאוחר יותר, הרב הראשי לקהילות מילווקי, ויסקונסין (Rabbi of the United Orthodox Congregations of Milwaukee, Wisconsin). הרב שיינפלד כיהן בתפקידי ציבור רבים, ובהם סגן נשיא הסתדרות ציוני אמריקה. חיבר ספרים ומאמרים רבים, בשאלות הלכה. הרב שיינפלד נפטר במילווקי בשנת 1943.
