Biographical summary זלמן ברכות סופר ומסאי ביידיש נולד בטשאוואוס 1886, עלה לארץ ישראל ב 1907. גורש ב-1914 על ידי התורכים, חזר עם הגדוד העברי, ושוב נאלץ לעזוב בשנות ה-20. יצירתו הספרותית תחילתה ב 1907. מאמריו וספוריו נדפסו בכתבי עת רבים ביידיש. כן ערך את כתב העת "דער קאלאניסט" בשנים 1916-1917. הוא חזר לביקורים בישראל בשנות ה-50 ומשנת 1974 עבר להתגורר בארץ. נפטר בירושלים 1977.
