האוסף כולל מאות פריטים, המייצגים קהילות, משפחות ויחידים מכל תפוצות ישראל ומארץ ישראל. התעודות בדפוס ובכתב יד, במגוון רחב מאוד של סוגים, תקופות, שפות ומוצא גיאוגרפי. טווח השנים של האוסף הוא רס"ב-תשנ"ד 1502-1994, אם כי רוב התעודות נכתבו או נדפסו במאות ה-יח וה-יט ובמחצית הראשונה של המאה ה-כ. בין סוגי התעודות: אגרות, אישורים, חוזים, טפסים, כתבי חסות, כתבי מינוי וסמיכה, מסמכי בית דין (עדויות, פסקי דין), מכתבים, קטעים מפנקסי קהילות, צוואות, צווים, קבלות לשוחט, שטרות, תעודות אישיות (לידה, מקצוע, תואר, רווקות), תקנות בית כנסת.
