Biographical summary דוד ויניצקי נולד בשנת 1907 בקישינב, בסרביה. בין השנים 1923-1940 שימש כמזכיר אגודת "תרבות" בבסרביה. היה חבר הוועד המרכזי של המפלגה-המאוחדת "צעירי-ציון" - "פועלי-ציון" ומנהל המשרד הארצישראלי שם. בשנת 1940, עם סיפוח ביסרביה לברית המועצות, נאסר ויניצקי ונשלח למחנות-ריכוז בסיביר. ויניצקי עלה לישראל בשנת 1961. בישראל פרסם ויניצקי שורה ארוכה של ספרים ומאמרים על חיי היהודים בברית המועצות ובייחוד בבסרביה. דוד ויניצקי נפטר בשנת 1987.
Ownership history האוסף נרכש על ידי הספרייה הלאומית מידי מר דוד ויניצקי בשנת 1982.
