Biographical summary |
Wilhelm Stiassny (Bratislava 1842-Bad Ischl 1910, particular dates contested), an Austrian historicist architect. In 1862 he was one of the founders of the architects organization Wiener Bauhütte and in 1867 was a part of a committee for regulating the Danube. He was a member of manty public offices in the Jewish, Austrian and Viennes communities, and was responsible for designing hundred of public buildings. In 1890 he founded the Society for Conservation & Preservation of Jewish Art & Historical Monuments and was President of Jewish Colonization Association in Vienna. |
