Son of theologian Karl Thieme Sr, brother of legal historian Hans Thieme. 1927- dozent, Berlin School of Pol Sci 1931-33 Prof of History & Civics, Elbing Teachers Seminary 1933 fired for opposition 1934 converted to Catholicism after Lutheran adjustment to regime 1935 fled to Switzerland 1947- Mainz Uni, 1953- professor. 1948- Co-editor of Freiburger Rundbriefes. |
