Biographical summary Rudolf Fuchs, born Pedebrady 5.3.1890, died London 17.2.1942. Businessman, journalist, poet, dramatist. Native Czech speaker, studied German from age 10. He was acquainted with the "Prague Circle" of Franz Kafka, Max Brod, Oskar Baum, Felix Weltsch and others. Fuchs won the Herder Prize 1938 for Czech-German translation. Emigrated to England 1939.
