Scope and content Hebrew translation of the Batavian Republic's adaptation of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, adopted and read publicly in The Hague on January 31, 1795. The Republic had been founded only twelve days prior, following the unseating of William V, Prince of Orange, by Dutch revolutionaries supported by the French Revolutionary Army.
