חתן: אברהם בן מרדכי כלה: יוכבד בת אליה עדים: יצחק יוסף, ועד נוסף ששמו לא פוענח. בהסכמות: "וקבל אבי הכלה לקנות לה ארבע קני מדה קרקע בשוק היהודים שבכוויל בטם". עם עיטורים צבעוניים. This is a fine decorated Cochin ketubbah. For full description see: The Ketubah, [Toronto]: Art Gallery of Ontario, 1980, p. 36 (see below). The most important decorative motif is the crowned oval medallion at top, flanked by a lion and a unicorn. This is clearly the British Royal arms which the artist imitated here (as India was a British colony at the time). Further below there is a heraldic eagle. The oval medallion contains the standard superscription found in Indian ketubbot (comprised of blessings and Proverbs 18:22, 19:14 and Psalms 128:3-6). Dowry: 2,001 Paneen in gold and silver jewelry, nazmeem, and ktilot. Also, the bride's father agreed to buy for her four cubits in the Jewish market of Quilvatam. Tosefet: 10 methgalim of gold.
