This is a fine Roman ketubbah with a typical pointed bottom and wide floral borders. The initial word "On Wednesday" is set in a large, gilt cartouche. Gold powder was also used for the inner frames. The decorative inscriptions that surround the text are comprised of standard wedding verses: Ruth 4:11
Psalms 128:3-6
Proverbs 5:18. The two signatures are known Roman rabbis.
As was the custom in Rome, a separate deed listing all the items of the dowry and other specifications related to the wedding was signed by the parties at the office of a civil, non-Jewish notary whose name is sometimes mentioned in the ketubbah. Here it is Signor Moneti.
Dowry and tosefet: 1,250 scudi.
