متن الكتاب لبطلميوس القلوذي (Klaudios Ptolemaios) الإسكندري المتوفى حوالي سنة 188ميلادي، ترجمه حنين بن إسحاق العبادي المتوفى سنة 260 هجري/ 873 ؛ ثم شرحه علي بن رضوان الطبيب المصري المتوفى سنة 453 هجري/ 1061. أول المقدمة: ".. قال \الشارح\ قصدنا ان نشرح اقاويل بطلميوس في صناعة القضاء بالنجوم فنقول ان القضاء بالنجوم على الحوادث صناعة هي اشياء يتبين بعضها في العلم الطبيعي وبعضها في العلم التعليمي الخ"؛ وأول المتن وشرحه: "قال بطلميوس ان الامور التي بها يكون تقدمة المعرفة المأخوذة عن علم النجوم .. قال المفسر ان بطلميوس فحص عن ضروب تقدمة المعرفة فوجدها عند الاطبا منها ناقصا الخ"؛ وآخر الشرح: "عطارد بالحوت كد مز فهذه الاشياء قد شرحتها لك فانعم النظر فيها فتاملها ..". Commentary on Ptolemy’s Tetrabiblos. Commentary by ʿAlī Ibn Riḍwān (d. 453/1061) on Ḥunayn b. Isḥāq’s (d. 260/873) translation of Claudius Ptolemy’s ‘Four books on the effects of the stars on events’. Copying by ʿAlī al-Ishbūlī al-Anadūlī completed at the end of Ṣafar 1157/1744–5. 389 leaves Western paper, 140×197 mm 23 lines quinion quires, numbered with numerals and letters of the alphabet.
