חלקו אוטוגרף ורובו העתקה עם הגהות מהמחבר. 9ב: "..זכני השוכן בציון לשבת בציון זה ח"י שנים, וכהיום אני כבן שבעים שנה". ובהקדמתו לספרו 'שארית ציון' (ירושלים תרמ"ג) כותב הוא: "זכיתי להיות כבן שבעים שנה.. במנחם אב העבר". ולפי זה היתה עלייתו בשנת תרכ"ד.- אך בשער ספרו 'כל הכתוב לחיים' (ירושלים תרמ"ו) נאמר: "מתושבי ירושלים ת"ל זה כ"ד שנה" - כלומר שעלה בשנת תרכ"ב. 13א: "ספרינו הציבי [ציונים].. זה כשנים עשר שנים מאז הדפסתים", נדפס בשנת תרל"ב. נראה ש"הקדמה" זו היא הנזכרת בעמ' א שב"קונטרס מוסר ודעת" (בתוך ספרו "קונטרס תיקון והשמטות", ירושלים תרמ"ד) וכן נזכרת בהקדמתו ל'שארית ציון' (ירושלים תרמ"ג, ומביא שם קיצור ממנה.
