| Biographical Info |
דב (ברל) מילמן נולד ב- 28 באוגוסט 1908 (א' באלול תרס"ח) בעיירה סטולין להוריו צבי וינטה מילמן. הוא היה הבן השני במשפחה בת ארבעה ילדים. דב התחנך בבית ספר "תרבות" בסטולין, אך יתכן שבשנותיו הראשונות הוא למד בבית הספר של הקהילה החסידית בעיירה. המשפחה היתה ציונית, ודב היה פעיל בתנועות וארגונים ציוניים בסטולין, ביניהם ארגון פרייהייט (דרור) פולין. בתחילת שנות השלושים עלו כל בני המשפחה לישראל והתיישבו בקיבוץ תל יוסף (אחיו משה עלה בשנת 1929, הוריו עלו בשנים 1933 ו-1935. דב עלה במהלך השנים האלו). לאחר כמה שנים בקיבוץ, דב עבר לתל אביב, ועבד כמורה לסנדלרות בפנימיה לנוער בסיכון, שם גם גר. הוא התחתן עם יוכבד מילמן, אותה פגש בתל אביב, ובשנת 1951 נולד בנו היחיד, דוד. לאחר שעבר לגור עם משפחתו בדיור שהיה מיועד לאנשי חינוך ביד אליהו. הוא פרש מהעבודה בפנימייה, ועבר לעבוד בבנק ישראל בתור סופר שטרות. דב נפטר ב-18.12.1971 (ל' בכסלו תשל"ב) בגיל 63. |
