| כשנגשנו יחזקאל בראון ואני, לבחור שירים לתקליט זה - התחלנו קודם כל לחפש בשירונים הישנים. אלה שאפשר למצוא אותם מאובקים ודהויים במדפים התחתונים של חנויות התוים. אנחנו גודלנו על שירים כמו "לילה לילָה", "שחקי שחקי", "יש לי גן", וחבל לנו שהקהל היום דוהר קדימה וזונח שירים ישנים מאחוריו. ואין זו התרפקות רגשנית על "הזמנים שהיו". השירים הישנים טובים ויפים בזכות עצמם. ולא פעם יפים בהרבה מכל מיני שירים ההולכים וצצים היום בקצב מסחרר. מצד שני, חשבנו ננהג שלא בצדק אם נתעלם מן השירים והמחברים של היום. ולכן באנו בדברים עם כמה מחברים צעירים,אפילו צעירים מאד. וכך ליקטנו את הזר הזה שיש בו ישן וגם חדש, שירים של אז ושירים של עכשו. |
