חנניה מנחם נולד בשנת 1950 במחנה עולים בעין שמר. בשנה זו עלו הוריו מתימן יחד עם קבוצה שגרה באזור חוגריה בדרום תימן. בעיר נהריה התרכזה קבוצה גדולה מחוגריה שהקימה את בית הכנסת "תפארת ישראל". חנניה מנחם ספג בנעוריו את לחני התפילות בבית הכנסת והושפע מאד מאביו שהיה בקי מאד בביצוע המוסיקלי של התפילות עפ"י מנהגי החוגריה. חנניה מתגורר בשכונת גילה בירושלים. |
