Photographs are printed in a book with a printed description beneath in French printed description: "A côté du Mihrab, une magnifique chaire en bois sculpté. Les détails d'ornamentation sont de toute beauté l'escalier et le corps même de la tribune, terminé en pointe sont incrustés d'ivoire et de nacre. Ce chef-d'œuvre fut exécuté en 1168 (564 de l'hégire), sous les ordres de Noureddin, par un artiste d'Alep, et il a été placé à cet endroit par Saladin lors de la restauration de la mosquée. Derrière la chaire, on montre l'empreinte d'un pied de Jésus dans la roche: l'un des plus anciens pelerins, Antoine de Plaisance, en fait mention. Plus loin, on peut voire deux colonnes et qui sont actuellement separees par une grille en fer. Au dire des musulmans, quiconque ne peut passer entre les deux n'ira pas au ciel."
