Quality: Good Verso: Printed description on facing page (in Hebrew and German) : "Béer Tobiah (Kâatîne) Diese von Baron Rothschild erworbene Kolonie ging im Jahre 1885 in den Besitz der 'Chovevei-Zion' über. Diese Gesellschaft siedelte zwanzig jüdische Familien (Taglöhner) an und überwies einer jeden Familie ein Terrain von ca. 19 Hektar, mit dem dazu gehörigen Inventar. Während die meisten anderen Kolonien das Gepräge kleiner Städte annahmen, blieb Béér Tobiah jeder Beziehung ein Dorf. Das Gut liefert sehr gute Erträge in Weizen, Sesam, Gerste etc. Da die Bauern sehr fleissige und in der Landwirtschaft erprobte Arbeiter sind, sehen sie einer guten Zukunft entgegen. Die Besitzung liegt an der Strasse die nach Gaza führt, und ist zwei Stunden von Gederah entfernt." |
