Fol. 54v: Two illustrations on the outer margin are situated one under the other. The upper illustration depicts a man sitting in a fish mouth. Its connection the text of this page, dealing with characteristics of the planet Saturn is not clear. The lower illustration is a fierce dog with an inscription: "Do not walk contrary unto me" (אל תלכו עמי בקרי). The inscription is related to the text describing the people born under the influence of Saturn: "... to seduce people, to walk contrary, to fear, to worry ..." (... ולפתות בני אדם וללכת בקרי ולפחד ולדאג ...). The placement of the illustrations especially on this page could be connected to the general meaning of the planet Saturn. In medieval world Saturn was considered as the planet of Jews. Christian authors described the planet as bad, cold, dry, melancholy, etc., while the same terminology was used regarding the Jews (see: Zafran, Saturn and the Jews, pp. 16-18). As well Jews themselves considered Saturn ( Shabtai ) as the planet of Israel ( Toledot Itzhak, Genesis 2:1).
