Fols. 77v, 79v: In the lower margin of the pages are an ink-drawn rooster (fol. 77v - fig. 1) and a lamb supporting a flag with its right foreleg (fol. 79v - fig. 2 ), both depicted by later hands who added marginal ink-drawings: A bird (fol. 32v) and a flowery pole (fol. 75v). In Christian iconography a lamb bearing a flag (fig. 2) or a cross is a symbol of Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God ( Agnus Dei ). See for example the drawing of the Agnus Dei by Giulio Romano, c.1540 (fig. 3) and the woodcut " Adoration of the Lamb " by Albrecht Dürer, 1496-98 (fig. 4).
