The rectangular silver book binding consists of two identical covers, a spine and two clasps. The two purple velvet covers bear a central and four corner cartouches. The central cartouche flanked by rocailles and laurel leaf is surmounted by a coronet and mounted over an acanthus leaf. The triangular corner cartouches have a weavy rim and bear a decoration of rocailles, leaves and grapes. The velvet is attached to the cover by a folded silver strip. The binding is closed by two openwork clasps composed by a stylised floral pattern.
