The hanging Hanukkah lamp consists of a back wall, a row of eight oil containers, and a shamash . The arched back wall is folded at its bottom, forming a shallow tray on which a row of eight oil containers is set. Each of the containers is shaped as a pointed receptacle with wavy edges. An additional oil container, functioning as a shamash, is fastened to the top of the arch. A hanging hook shaped as a bird's tail is attached to the top of the lamp.
