A palm tree flanked by a pair of birds occupies two medallions situated to the left of the central axis in the ninth and tenth rows. The branches of the tree are thin and spearlike. The tree trunk, which widens at the base, is composed of rounded links. The birds are depicted at the base of the tree in three quarter view. Their bodies face the tree and their heads are turned away from the tree.
