"הרומן “טבעת האש" מגולל סיפור אהבה אפל ולא שגרתי המתרחש במשרדיהם המפוארים של פירמות עורכי-הדין והתאגידים הניו יורקים המובילים ביום, ובמועדונים, מרתפי סאדו וחללי הופעות רוקנרול בלילות. הרומן מתאר משולש רומנטי בלתי אפשרי שקדקודיו הם מורט פרימן, עו״ד דין יהודי ניו יורקי רופס ואכול שנאה עצמית, התובע המחוזי האגדי גגליירדי, טורף אורבאני אכזרי ומתוחכם וקריסטין - דומינטריקס מסתורית, קשוחה ונחשקת הידועה גם בשמה המקצועי ״מיסטרס אלקטרה. ״הרומן, הכתוב במסורת האירופאית של הספרות הסאדו-מאזוכיסטית נוסח ״ונוס בפרווה״ של ליאופולד זאכר-מאזוך וממשיכו העברי ״חיי נישואין״ של דוד פוגל, גורר את הקורא למסע תזזיתי בצדה האפל של ניו יורק, המצטיירת בו כעיר חמדנית, גחמנית, אכזרית ומפתה ממש כמו דמותה המרשימה והמרתקת של "מיסטרס אלקטרה". מורט פרימן, האנטי-הגיבור החלש ונעדר-הצורה כמֵה ומשתוקק בכל מאודו אל המשמעת, הסדר, החופש וההארה הגלומים בקצהו של שוט העור שלה. מסעו של מורט פרימן מפשיט אותו מכבודו, מעמדו ונכסיו ומעמיד אותו בסכנת מוות ממשית- אבל מעניק לו, אולי, את הסיכוי האחרון לגאולה.(ראובן נמדר)" -- מהאתר עברית.
