"הסופר והמשורר אמנון שמוש, יליד חלב וחבר קיבוץ בגליל מזה שישים שנה, מוציא לאור ספר פרקי זכרונות בשם 'כי מעבר באת ואל עבר תשוב'. את הספר מצייר מנשה קדישמן, שרעה את הצאן עם אמנון באגמות חמארה. הזיכרון, כותב הסופר, פעם מנפהף פעם מייפה ופעם מחפה. הוא מספר על ילדות בארם-צובה, עיר 'כתר', על העלייה אל ארץ הגמל והתפוז באוניה מביירות לנמל תל אביב החדש, על גמנסיה הרצליה ואופרה מוגרבי, על המפגש עם 'אחינו האשכנזים'. על שליחויות באפריקה ובתפוצות, הוא מתרפק על דור הנוער ועל ימי הקמת הקיבוץ ומתמודד עם המציאות המאכזבת, ואחרון אחרון ספרות: ימי 'מישל עזרא ספרא ובניו' - הרומן והסידרה. בכל פרק מפרקי העבר פזורות הערות מעוררות מחשבה על ההווה ועל העתיד, כסיכות חדות דוקרות ואינן פוצעות בעד לריפוי האירוני. במרכז יצירתו - המפגש בין המזרח למערב בארץ ובתפוצות, מקוטב הקיפוח והניגוח והגזענות עד קוטב החן והחסד וההתמזגות." -- כריכה אחורית.
