"סיפורה של שושנה הוא מקור השראה. היא שרדה בזכות התקווה שהפיחו בה בנות דוודתיה שתמכו בה וצעדו לצדה לאורך כל המסע. היא שרדה בזכות האמונה החזקה בקב"ה והזיכרונות המתוקים מהבית והחלומות שעליהם התרפקה - כל אלה נתנו לה כוחות להתעלות מעל ההווה האכזרי" -- מן המעטפת האחורית. ; A biography of the author's mother, who was born as Shoshana Vegh in 1930 in Borşa (Maramureş), Romania. Before the war, there were ca. 2,500 Jews in the town. Pp. 18-53 relate her experiences during the Holocaust period. In April 1944 she was deported to Auschwitz, and after five months to Bergen-Belsen.
