Presents the results of a project carried out in 2003-04 by several classes in the famous Wasagymnsium in Vienna, commemorating Jewish pupils and teachers who were expelled in 1938. Alumni of the high school include many notable politicians, artists, and scientists. At the time of the Anschluss, 50% of the pupils were Jews, as were six of the teachers. They were all expelled; 22 pupils and two teachers were eventually murdered by the Nazis, while the rest escaped abroad. Pp. 29-100 contain testimonies by some former pupils who were expelled in 1938. Pp. 101-137 contain testimonies by Jewish youngsters who were transferred to the Wasagymnasium after it was turned into a Jewish school later the same year. Pp. 137-144 contain a list of alumni who fell victim to the Holocaust.
