"סיפורה של חבורת נערים יוצאי מעברות מעירק, רומניה, מרוקו ופולין המתחנכת בקיבוץ בראשית שנות החמישים. המפגש המהמם והחריף ההופך לעימות בין שתי תרבויות - הקיבוץ והמעברה. סיפור אהבתם של נילי מהמעברה לצביקה בן הקיבוץ, וסיפורם של בוזגלו המחפש את אלוהים ושל נורי הנקרע בין שני העולמות. לכאורה, לא יותר מסיפור, אבל מתחת לפני השטח כבר רוחשים המחאות והזעם שהולידו את "המהפכים" של ימינו. חבורת הנערים אינה אלא מראה שבה משתקפים בתי - האב של מורשותיהם, המגיעות עד אל סף משבר ואף אל מעברו. כאמור, סיפור על שנות החמישים, תקופת "הסער והפרץ" של ראשית שינוי הערכים בחברה הישראלית, שינוי שהטביע את חותמו העמוק על כל אורחות חיינו. יסודות אוטוביוגרפיים שהיוו תשתית לסיפור מרתק, עז צבע וניגודים. קונפליקט בין מזרח ומערב המבקש בלא דעת אחר התרתו בסינתזה, שהמחבר - אלי עמיר - מרמז עליה ושעודנה בגדר משאלת לב" -- מן המעטפת האחורית.
