Beith Hashanti was established in 1984 with the aim of looking after youngsters who had run away from home after suffering from physical, sexual and verbal violence; from drug-addicted or alcoholic parents; youth at odds with the authorities, who had dropped out of formal therapeutic frameworks or who had been abandoned by their parents. This book is a compilation selected from hundreds of poems written by the youngsters living in Beit Hashanti (Shanti House).
