Memoirs of Probst-Weil (1923-2006), who was born in Haguenau to a wealthy Alsatian merchant family. They were evacuated in 1940 and settled in Roanne, where Probts-Weil and her brother were offered work and the whole family protection by a member of the French resistance. In July 1944, however, the Weils were denounced by Caroline (Linette), a cousin who was married to state prosecutor René Weil but became the mistress of collaborator Felix Michel. Probst-Weil and her brother were first tortured in the prison in Saint-Etienne and then sent to Drancy together with their parents. They were liberated in August 1944. After a year in Roanne, the family returned to newly liberated Haguenau. Pp. 62-120 present facsimiles of newspaper articles pertaining to the trial of Caroline Weil and Felix Michel in Lyon in 1947.
