The Holocaust industry

Argues that "The Holocaust" is an ideological weapon used by Israel's supporters to preempt criticism of the Jewish state and by American Jews to acquire the vicarious status of victims. Contends that the Holocaust became central to American life from 1967, when Israel became a strategic ally of the U.S. Holds that the moot uniqueness of the Holocaust should not be used to marginalize other genocides, or to avoid American compensation to American Indians and Blacks, or Israeli compensation to Palestinians. Claims that American and international Jewish organizations are "Holocaust hucksters" that exploit Holocaust survivors to gain reparations from Switzerland and Germany, and are now trying to receive compensation for former Jewish property in impoverished Eastern Europe. In the latter case, the "Holocaust industry" is seen as fomenting antisemitism. Unlike the case with Switzerland, the U.S. failure to accept refugees and reluctance to give Holocaust assets to rightful heirs has not been mentioned by Jewish organizations, much less targeted for rectification.
