Pp. 4-46 describe the history of the Jews in Offenbach and their participation in the town's economic development until 1933. Section 5 (pp. 47-79), "Von der Diskriminierung zur Entrechtung", surveys the history of antisemitism in Germany from the Middle Ages and the rise of modern antisemitism and racism. The rest of the book deals with Nazi antisemitic policies and the Holocaust, focusing on individual cases of persecution in Offenbach, propaganda in the press, the events of "Kristallnacht", Jewish emigration, and the deportation of the 344 remaining Jews.
