According to his birth certificate IV was born in Bulgaria in 1944, where he was raised along with his twin brother by his parents. However, IV believes that he was born in Austria or Germany and that his twin brother was not really his twin but a result of one of Mengele's experiments - the second child underwent plastic surgery to make him look like IV. He believes that after the war his parents were coerced into adopting the boys by the communist government. He was brought up in a very antisemitic family. IV says that his relationship with his brother was not as a relationship between twins should be - they were very competitive and fought often. He also believes that his father tried to kill him a number of times. IV's brother is a neo-Nazi and IV felt pressured by Nazism for much of this life - he believes that this is a result of his brother's mind control. IV claims that from the mid 1970s certain people pressured him to research his origins, but he will not reveal his sources. He also believes that as a result he has been "blackballed" in America and for this reason cannot find any work. IV studied art in Poland from 1965 to 1969. Having contravened some regulations that could endanger his family in Bulgaria, he fled to Sweden. He lived in Switzerland between 1974 and 1980. He now resides in America and is an artist and art restorer.
