Autobiographical interviews of Jews born in German speaking countries ("Yekkes") - 50/60 years after their immigration to Israel

Born 02/12/1892, Berlin. Education: until 1908 high school for girls, Margarethen school, training as book keeper. Emigration: 1937 via Paris - Marseilles - Alexandria to Haifa C.V.: after the beginning of WWI she worked for different war corporations, later for private companies. Last job in Berlin: Hansa carbon paper industry. 1937-61 in a carbon paper factory in Tel Aviv. (Oniyah). Retirement. Interview: Childhood in Berlin: 1 brother, father had a clothing store. Was not allowed to work because she was from a "better" family, but she worked anyhow. Municipal school with Jewish religion lessons, before she visited Christian lessons. Brother: Judge, emigrated to England in 1939. Interned in Australia. Before 1938 in Sachsenhausen. Her emigration: together with a supplier of the carbon paper factory. Certificate in 1937, went to Tel Aviv with all her furniture. About her first home. Contacts with Germany: Jewish and Christian friends, but no contact during WWII. About a letter to her mother in Auschwitz. Parents: Divorced, mother married again; 1934 via Czechoslovakia to Paris. Father died in 1917. Children lived with the father. About a relative whose half Jewish family was killed in a concentration camp, a cousin who fled from the SA. Father was the only person in the family who was religious. Brother was not religious at all. She was interested in Judaism but not religious. Travels. Father died when she was 25. Brother was sent to Duesseldorf and stayed there until 1935.
