Born in approximately 1925, Chemnitz. Secondary school and high school for girls. Emigration: Romania, 3 years in concentration camp in Ukraine; emigration to Israel on a ship to Haifa 1947/48. Career: after death of husband librarian in Tel Aviv, shop assistant, maid, writes a book about the 6 Days War, retirement, now works as a writer. Interview: About her language, speaks German most of the time because her Hebrew is not very good. Birth of son 1948, immigration to Israel 1947/48. Speaks only German with her son. 3 years in a concentration camp, after Hitler's seizure of power she emigrated to Rumania. Born in Chemnitz. Family had to flee, suffered enormously during those years. Concentration camp in Transnistria in Ukraine. After the camp to Cernowitz, fell into the hands of the Russians Was hidden in a closet until a Russian found her, was supposed to be sent to Siberia. Living situation in the camp. 3 siblings, one died. How she hid from the Germans and broke her thigh. No sufficient medical care. One leg remained shorter than the other. Trying to understand the logic of the persecutions. Her attitude towards life. (It is a crime to set children into this world). The cruelty of mankind. The progress of mankind. The family who hid her took her to a Russian friend, she was found and forgotten when they left. Her father had been shot in the meantime. On board of the emigration ship: 1000 people. Unforgettable journey, the ship overturned, many lost their luggage. Remembers ; dead people. Got to know her husband in Israel. Search for an apartment, went to see a woman in Haifa who helped her, met her husband and son, who proposed to her on the following evening. Husband died after not even 10 years of marriage. A new beginning was very difficult. Move to Tel Aviv, compensation money came later, work as librarian, shop assistant, maid, does not want to talk about it. Life got easier after the compensation money came. After the 6 Days War she started to write stories about the war, published her book herself. Book was translated into Hebrew, big success but no money, the costs had been too high. Sent her book to Ben Gurion and got an invitation. About meeting Ben Gurion. About her son: couldn't laugh anymore after his father's death. She sent him to a Kibbutz, later he did not want to come back home. Never talks about how he misses his father, married a woman with two children. To her grandchildren she speaks in Hebrew. Hebrew courses in the home for old people. After she received an answer to her letter to Ben Gurion she wrote to Einstein, de Gaulle, Thomas Mann, Brecht about Israel. Has a collection of 100 letters and organized an exhibition. Also letters from Konrad Adenauer, Neil Armstrong, Menachim Begin, David Gurion, Bernadot, Nils Bor, Willi Brandt, Berthold Brecht, Chagall, Churchill, Marlene Dietrich, Charles DeGaulle, John Glenn, Hesse, Heuss, Lindon Johnson, Erich Kaestner, Keller. Oskar Kokoschka, Golda Meir, Yehudi Menuhim, Nero, ; Eleonor Roosevelt....and many more. Complains about depressions. About the Hebrew language. Tells Jokes. Small talk.
