Born Linkuva, 1919, near Shavli. Joined Betar when family moved to Schavli, 1930s. Served as final director of local Betar movement, beginning 1939. Warned by Jewish communists, 1939, of approaching Soviet rule. Several weeks after Soviets took over Lithuania, Isaac caught by N.K.V.D., sentenced to seven years in Peciora. Following release returned to birthplace to find only mother and sister. Arrested again, 1949, expelled to Krasnoyarsk region. Returned, 1955. Arrested third time, 1957, after attempting to make Aliyah to Israel. Successfully made Aliyah, 1969.
