At the beginning of 1942, he was member of a leftist clandestine movement cell in the Shauli Ghetto. A year later, the members of the cell were moved to the Pavenchiai Labor Camp, near the ghetto. They tried to contact partisans many times upon arrival at the camp, Bloch came back to the ghetto looking for arms. With these arms they planned to abort the Aktia of the children in this camp and in Daugeliai camp. Although the arms were ready to be used, the escape from the camp and the rescue of the children didn't succeed. Those who had arms, disappointed by the failure, escaped alone from the camp while interchanging firing with the Latvian Police. By the autumn of 1944 the Soviet Army came back to Latvia and Bloch and his comrades joined the NKVD's members who were devoted, amongst other tasks, to chase and punish Jews' persecutors. During the interview, Bloch denounced discrimination from the inhabitants of the region of Kavkaz in comparison with the inhabitants of Trakai.
