Order a Study Room

The NLI contains 13 study rooms which can be used by the public. These are located in the Reading Rooms on floors -1 and -2.

Each room contains an erasable writing board and television screen that can be hooked up to a computer.

Study rooms are available in three sizes. You must pre-order a room to gain access, on the basis of availability.

Operating hours are in accordance with the operating hours of the Reading Rooms.

Terms of Use

• The study rooms are for the use of groups of two people or more.
• The rooms are not available for individual (single-person) study.
• If you wish to use a room for online learning, please order the room via the service desk in the reading hall, and not via our online system.
• The use of the rooms is based on availability, and requires reservation in advance in the library website.
• Reservation is for a specific study room.
• Use of the room is for a maximum of two hours a day.
• Rooms can be reserved up to two weeks ahead of time.
• The room will be kept for 15 minutes from the beginning of the booked time slot. Failure to arrive at the room within this time frame will enable placing a new reservation.
• Rules regarding behaviour in the Library’s reading rooms, are the same in the study rooms. Eating, drinking and talking on the phone are not permited.
• The Library is not responsible for personal equipment that is brought or left in the study rooms.
• Please be careful when using equipment in the room, and leave it in working condition when you finish using the room. Study room users will bear the costs of the damages caused by them.
• Please note that the rooms are monitored.
• Please keep the study rooms clean.
• Please adhere to the library staff's instructions.
• Library staff has the right to limit the use of the study rooms or cancel a reservation with notification in advance.
• The reading rooms are intended for your use, please keep a quiet and appropriate atmosphere.
