The presence of Russian pilots in Egypt had changed the situation in the Middle East. For this reason I strongly recommend that the U.S. should supply Israel with the military equipment it needs, including; Phantom jets. This was stated by Mr. Hubert Humphrey, former U.S. Vice-President and Democratic Presidential candidate, who arrived on May 3 accompanied by his wife, Muriel, for a four-day visit as a guest of the Weizman Institute of Science. Present at the airport were the U.S, Ambasador, Mr. Walworth Barbour; Professor Albert B. Sabin, President of the Weizman Institute, Mr. Meyer Weisgal, its Chancellor, and Sir Isaac Wolfson. Photo shows: From left to right are Mr. Meyer Weisgal, Chancellor of the Weizman Institute, Prof. A. Seibin and Mr. Humphrey, at Lydda Airport. May 3th, 1970.
