The picture represents a scene of shearing sheeps in a jewish agricultural commune. In the center there is a sheep-hold. In its front part there sit four shepherds shearing four sheeps standing in front of them. The back part of the fold is triangular. In the far corner of it there stands a shepherd in a red shirt with a short whip in his right risen hand. The sheeps are huddled together along the walls of the fold. On the background one can see an even steppe landscape with a long white fence stretched from the one side to another, with a green meadow and a road in its center going up vertically.
