(מתוך הספר) ; בפרקים קצרצרים, מציירת נעמה ארז תמונות מקום מוכָּרות וזרות כאחד. מקום ההתרחשות הוא יישוב מדברי נידח למדי - מה שמקובל לכנות "פריפריה" - יישוב בעל היגיון וחוקים משלו. ואלה מבוססים על היררכיות ועל אינטימיות, על כוחנות ועל נדיבות, ועל אבסורד שמכתיבים הבידוד, ההזנחה והריחוק מהמרכז. השרטוטים החדים, העדינים, מעלים חיוך וגם מעוררים כעס ותחושה של חוסר אונים. ועולה התהייה, האומנם מה שהיה הוא שיהיה? תהייה המעוררת עניין מיוחד לאור קווי השבר (או החיבור) הנמתחים ומתחדדים היום בין מרכז לפריפריה"-- מן האתר של הוצאת סטימצקי.
