"ללכת עם אנשים הוא סיפורו המרתק של תא"ל במיל' עודד טירה, מי שהיה מפקד פינוי חבל ימית, קצין תותחנים ראשי, מקימה ונשיאה של פיניציה אמריקה ישראל, נשיא התאחדות התעשיינים וכיום מכהן כיו"ר המועצה הלאומית לספורט. טירה מתמקד בספרו בכמה צמתים חשובים בתולדות המדינה, שהיתה לו הזכות להיות נוכח בהם ולהשפיע עליהם. כך למשל, פינוי חבל ימית - אבן דרך בתולדות המדינה - שזוכה בספר לראשונה להצגה מנקודת מבטו של מפקד הפינוי. טירה חושף בספר פרטים חדשים על ימי הפינוי, כולל מפגשים מרתקים עם הרב כהנא, עם צחי הנגבי ועם המתנגדים לנסיגה, ואינו מהסס לספר על הקשיים האישיים שנתקל בהם. כנשיא התאחדות התעשיינים עמד טירה בחזיתם של מאבקים ציבוריים בעלי חשיבות מכרעת: הרפורמה במשק, גובה שכר המינימום, השביתות הארוכות בנמלים ששיתקו את המשק, מאבקים של עובדים מול עובדים, ועוד". -- מהמעטפת האחורית.
