"על הספר ארץ וימים: קריאה בספר הספרים מנקודת ראותו של איש מדעי כדור הארץ, מעלה שאלות ביחס לזיהוי מקומות גאוגרפיים ולהבנת תהליכים גאוגרפיים המוזכרים או נרמזים במקרא. בספר זה נעשה ניסיון להתמודד עם הבנת המקרא ביחס לתהליכים מתחום מדעי כדור הארץ המעצבים את הנוף. בגמרא (ברכות דף נד א) נאמר: תנו רבנן: הרואה מעברות הים, ומעברות הירדן, מעברות נחלי ארנון, אבני אלגביש במורד בית חורון, ואבן שבקש לזרוק עוג מלך הבשן על ישראל, ואבן שישב עליה משה בשעה שעשה יהושע מלחמה בעמלק, ואשתו של לוט, וחומת יריחו שנבלעה במקומה – על כולן צריך שייתן הודאה ושבח לפני המקום. במקומות אלה התחוללו תהליכים שפענוחם חשוב להבנת הנס. בספר מוצגת חשיבות הידע הפליאוגאוגרפי להבנת פשוטו של מקרא, לדוגמה: תיאורה של העיר צור כאי, קיומה של לשון ים בצפון ים המלח, תיאור גבולות נחלת זבולון, ועוד. כל אחד מפרקי הספר כתוב כיחידה בפני עצמה, מכאן הקורא איננו מחויב לקרוא ברצף את פרקי הספר"--מן המעטפת האחורית.
