A biography of the author's father, Moshe Keshet (formerly Kende, 1919-1988), who was born in Budapest. He was recruited into the Hungarian military labor service units in 1940, and deserted in 1941. In 1944 he was captured and imprisoned in Budapest, but he escaped and joined resistance fighters in Budapest and its ghetto. The Soviet liberators of Budapest imprisoned him in a POW camp in Lugansk, Ukraine, between 1945-48. In 1949 he emigrated to Israel.
