מאת אבי אלנצויג שליח מעריב בקנדה שירות הביון הקנדי(סי.אס.איי.אס) נקט בצעד תסר תקדים, ופרסם הודעה פומבית, הקובעת כי השירות בודק תשדות לפיהן המוסד הישראלי טירפד עסקה להעברת המתבל מתמוד עיסה מוהאמד מקנדה לאלנ'י ר. ההודעה פורסמה על ידי דובר שירות הביון הקנדי, ושודרה בטלוויזיה ובעיתונות בקנדה. מוהאמד, שהיה אתד מתוקפי מטוס אל־על באתונה ב-‭,1968 ‬ התקפה בה ורצתה נוסע ונפצע קשה אתת הדיילות, הניע מספרד לקנדה עם משפההנ לפני כשנה. הוא שיקר לגבי זהותו בפני פקידי ההגירה הקנדים. מתברר, כי במהלך הדיון בענייננ בבית המשפט, הגיע מוהמד להסכם תשאי עם הממשלה הקנדית, לפיו הוא ייצא לארץ ערבית, בתמורה למתן אשרות הגירה לקנדה למשפתתו. לאהד שהושג הסכם עם שלטונות אלג'יריה יצא מותמד בשבוע שעבר בטיסה ללונדון, ומשם אמור היה להמשיך לאלג'יר. אולם במהלך הטיסה הטרנסאטלנטית הודלף דבר העסקה לעיתונות, וכאשר הגיע המהבל הפלשתינאי ללונדון ציפו לו בשדה עיתונ -אים רבים. בעקבות פרסום הפרשה סרבו האלנ'ירים להעניק לו אשרת כניסה, והאיש הותזר לקנדה. שרות הביון הקנדי טוען כי מקור ההדלפה הוא איש עסקים יהודי מטורונטו, הקשור, ככל הנראה, בסוכנים ישראלים.
