Qurʾan Illuminated "Baghdādī" MS of the fifth/eleventh century. The Qurʾanic readings (qirāʾāt) are precisely noted, according to the arrangement of Ibn al-Bawwāb (see Ms. Yah. Ar. 891) probably copied by one of his students. 281 leaves “Baghdādī” paper, 188x255 mm quaternion quires. Early naskh script, similar to Ibn al-Bawwāb’s handwriting. The verse dividers are small gold circles in which the letters of the alphabet from alif to yāʾ are written. In the margins: gold medallions containing the words ‘ten’, ‘twenty’, and so on likewise, signs for the division into fifths, for the places of prostration, etc. The headings of the suras are written as follows: On the right edge of the line, the name of the sura, which verses are Meccan and which Medinan, are written in thuluth script and gilded. On the left edge of the line are the numbers of the verses, words, and letters in the sura in naskh script, in crimson and blue inks. They are connected in the margin by a picture of a golden lily. The frontispiece is a number of verses written in Kūfī script, embellished and gilded the following page is outlined in gold, and al-Fātiḥa and the beginning of al-Baqara are written there, also in gold. The following opening is written the same way, and it appears there are two frontispieces. Iṣfahānī binding, most likely from the tenth/sixteenth century. The end is missing the MS reaches al-Kāfirūn, 2. In the margins, the different qirāʾāt are written in various colors. F. 1a has a waqfiyya note dated 1 Ramaḍān 1229. نسخة بغدادية مزوقة مضبوطة بالقراءات، من القرن الخامس الهجري /الحادي عشر، كتبت على ترتيب مصحف ابن البواب (أنظر وصف النسخة رقم 891 في مجموعة يهودا ) وعلى الاغلب أنها نسخة لاحد تلامذته؛ 281 ورقة "بغدادية"، 188:255 ملم؛ كراسات رباعية؛ خط نسخ قديم مثل خط ابن البواب؛ فواصل الآيات دوائر ذهبية صغيرة كتب فيها أحرف المعجم من ألف الى ياء؛ في الهوامش دوائر ذهبية شمسية كتب فيها "عشرة"، "عشرون" الخ، وفيها كذلك علامات الأخماس والسجدات وغير ذلك؛ كتبت عناوين السور على المنوال التالي: في أيمن السطر اسم السورة ومكان نزولها مكية او مدنية بخط الثلث المجوف والمذهب، وفي أيسره عدد الآيات والكلمات والحروف بخط النسخ وباللونين القرمزي والأزرق، وتربط بها في الهوامش صورة زنبقة مذهبة؛ كتب في الديباجتين عدد الآيات مزخرفة ومذهبة بالخط الكوفي؛ الصفحة التالية مجدولة بالذهب وكتب فيها باللون الذهبي عنوان سورة الفاتحة و البقرة وزوقت الصفحة المقابلة مثلها، وكأنهما شبه ديباجتان؛ جلدة إصفهانية من القرن العاشر الهجري/السادس عشر غالباً. مخرومة الآخر، وينتهي الموجود إلى {2} الكافرون. في الهوامش مختلف القراءات مكتوبة بألوان شتى.
