A short biography of Márton Horváth, written by his son. Horváth was born in 1906 as Marcel Schiller, to an affluent Hungarian Jewish family. He was a communist, and active in the Hungarian anti-Nazi resistance. Shows, inter alia, that contrary to the widespread view, the underground Hungarian Communist Party was not silent regarding the Holocaust in Hungary in 1944; presents several Party documents and leaflets of this time attesting to the opposite. Following the war, Horváth was active in the Hungarian Communist Party, but was critical of the policy of de-facto expulsion of Jews from its upper echelons. This and other disagreements with the Party leadership caused him to leave the Party. (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism)
