Janovska hell

Describes the establishment of the Nazi camp system, dwelling on camps in the Galicia district, the first of which were set up in 1941. The labor camp at Janowska Street in Lvov was the largest and most brutal of the camps in this area, and most of its prisoners were Jews. The camp served not only as a site of mass killing, but also as a transit point on the way to the Belzec death camp. Includes brief biographies of some Janowska camp prisoners, focusing on the experiences of Alexander Schwarz. Describes the killing process in the camp and the executioners.
