The Warsaw Ghetto diaries

A historian and journalist, and an Orthodox Jew, Seidman survived the Warsaw ghetto, where he was a librarian, and in 1946 settled in the USA. Pp. 11-17 contain a short biography written by his family. Pp. 41-280, "The Warsaw Ghetto Diaries", contain Seidman's diaries covering the period from 17 July 1942 (the eve of the deportation of Jews from Warsaw) until 25 April 1943 (the ghetto uprising). His postwar works - "Reflections after the Revolt" (pp. 281-288), "The Warsaw Ghetto Judenrat" (pp. 289-321), and "Personalities I Knew in the Ghetto" (pp. 323-393) - supplement the diaries. The diaries are preceded by an introduction (pp. 33-40), in which he relates their history during and after the war.
