Im Kampf ums Überleben

A collection of 18 testimonies collected by the author, a journalist, in interviews with Jews in Israel and non-Jews in Poland, relating the fate of Jews in Poland during the Holocaust. Emphasizes the role of Gentile rescuers who risked their lives in order to save Jews. Describes, also, the activities of members of Jewish youth movements after the liquidation of the ghettos of Zagłębie and Katowice, who were able, with the aid of non-Jews, to escape to Hungary, Turkey, and Palestine. All of the non-Jews interviewed have been recognized by Yad Vashem as Righteous Gentiles.
